Jefferson Hospital: Healthcare – 341-bed hospital with nearly 400 physicians to provide patients with their expertise in more than 40 specialties. Also offer Spiritual Care as well as comprehensive Behavioral Health Services for patients. Jefferson Hospital Counseling and Wellness Services: Behavioral Health – Offers assessment and therapy services for mental and emotional health issues including depression, anxiety, panic disorders and phobias, stress, grief, dementia, marital and family problems, trauma, abuse, self-esteem development and obsessive-compulsive disorders. One or several therapy services may be used in our individualized treatment plans: Comprehensive Assessment, Counseling and Psychotherapy, Hypnotherapy and Guided Imagery, Stress Management/Relaxation Therapy, Medication Therapy. – Kimberly Welsh, MS, HSA, 412-881-2255,

Jefferson Hospital: Inpatient Psychiatric Unit: Behavioral Health – Jefferson Hospital’s Inpatient Psychiatric Unit cares for those with conditions such as clinical depression, anxiety disorders, and schizophrenia. Therapies include individual, group, and family counseling; electroconvulsive therapy; occupational and recreational therapy; support groups, and 24-hour crisis intervention. Jefferson Hospital Intensive Outpatient Program: Behavioral Health – Consists of up to nine hours of therapy per week; treatment may include spiritual counseling, individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, recreational therapy, psychological assessment, psychiatric consultation and care, and family counseling. – Kimberly Welsh, MS, HSA, 412-881-2255,

Jefferson Hospital Community Outreach: Healthcare – Community Programs offers free health screening events, health education seminars, and a speaker bureau. Offers Pulmonary Awareness Group, Stroke Support Group, and Bariatric Support Group. – Janet O’Brien, 412-469-7100,

Jefferson Diagnostic Services: Healthcare – A network of fully licensed testing facilities that are conveniently located at numerous community sites throughout western Pennsylvania. – Randy Hough, 412-469-5234,

Jefferson Hospital Prenatal Classes: Healthcare – Courses designed to prepare expectant parents on the care of a newborn infant. Courses include breast feeding, new born basics, Baby 911, big brother/big sister, and other topics. – Janet O’Brien, 412-469-7100,

Jefferson Hospital’s Safe Haven: Healthcare – For women who are pregnant and do not feel they can care for their baby, or if they have a baby they cannot care for, they can bring the infant to the Jefferson Hospital Safe Haven. As long as the baby has not been abused, the person may drop off the baby without fear of arrest or prosecution. Drop off location is to the left of the emergency door entrance and is marked with a “Safe Haven” sign above the door. – Diana Allman Pehanich RN, MS, 412-469-5000,

Jefferson Hospital Community Care Network: Healthcare – Patients admitted more than once in a 30-day period are eligible. Each patient receives a weekly visit from a health coach in order to facilitate care between patient and provider. Jefferson Hospital Senior Services: Senior Services – Provides Information and Referral services as well as free tax assistance and free Medicare insurance counseling (APPRISE). Offers educational services including AARP Driver Safety Classes. Senior Services is an officially designated site for Access and PAT Bus applications. – Bethany Liput, 412-469-7099,

Jefferson Hospital Diabetes and Nutritional Counseling: Healthcare – Individual Nutrition Counseling provides an evidence-based therapeutic approach to treating medical conditions. A Certified Diabetes Educator or Registered Dietitian will develop a long-term individualized nutrition plan to improve health and quality of life. Individual Diabetes Education provides a Certified Diabetes Educator who will train individuals with one-on-one blood glucose monitoring, medication compliance and, if applicable, insulin administration. “Take Control of Your Diabetes” program teaches self-management skills which enable those with diabetes to successfully manage the disease. Jefferson Hospital Geriatric Assessment Program: Senior Services – The Geriatric Assessment Program is in-depth testing on the simple and instrumental activities of daily living to pinpoint where assistance is needed. – Jessica Frederick, M.S., CCC-SLP, 412-469-5015,

Jefferson Hospital Wig Salon: Healthcare – Jefferson Hospital has established a Wig Salon through the American Cancer Society’s (ACS) Women’s Health Services initiative. Jefferson Hospital Pulmonary Rehabilitation: Healthcare – The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at Jefferson Hospital is a comprehensive individualized exercise and education program for those individuals with lung disease. – Beth Kramer, 412-469-5045,

Jefferson Hospital Cardiac Rehabilitation: Healthcare – The Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at Jefferson Hospital is a comprehensive individualized exercise and education program for those individuals with known heart disease as well as those who are at risk for developing heart disease. Jefferson Rehab Therapy Services: Healthcare – Offers many specialties such as concussion care, pelvic floor therapy, lymphedema, swallowing programs, aquatic therapy and hand therapy. Requires physician referral. – Lisa LaMolinare, MPT, 412-469-5234,

Jefferson Joint Comfort Program: Healthcare – The Joint Comfort Program can help ease pain through exercise and nutrition education. A one-on-one evaluation performed by a physical therapist begins a four- to six week program incorporating an aquatic and land regimen. The program will consist of exercise, flexibility, stabilization, strength, resistance, and endurance training. It also incorporates nutritional education.
