Collaborative Member Spotlight: PULSE Pittsburgh

Jun 5, 2019

PULSE (Pittsburgh Urban Leadership Service Experience) cultivates a community of young servant leaders to transform Pittsburgh, inviting talented university graduates to partner with Pittsburgh nonprofits for a year of service and leadership. Over the last 25 years, PULSE has invited more than 350 young adults to partner with 125 Pittsburgh nonprofits, contributing some 500,000 hours of service.

In 2018-2019, PULSE launched a South Hilltop cohort of fellows to help serve the needs of nonprofit organizations in communities south of Pittsburgh. PULSE Fellows serve in a variety of nonprofits, ranging from the arts to community development, from social services to the environment. Nonprofit Partnership details are as follows:

  • Young Leaders serve in an 11-month position at a nonprofit, 35+ hrs/week, from early September to late July
  • Nonprofit Partners contract with PULSE, contributing a monthly stipend to PULSE (no employer taxes, health insurance, etc.)
  • Nonprofit Partner Applications are due June 27, 2019 at 5 pm at www.pulsepittsburgh.org/partner-with-us/apply.
