Community Directory:
Our mission is to build and sustain the morale and well being of the military community, past and present, with the assurance that the American public supports and appreciates their selfless service and daily sacrifices. We provide local services to veterans residing in the Mon Valley and focus on veterans at risk of, or coming out of homelessness, inpatient care physical, psychological or financial challenges. When veterans transition to permanent housing, our organization ensures they maintain an upward trajectory towards recovery and quality of life through 3 specific services: 1. Beds – We provide veterans who are entering permanent housing with brand new beds (frame, mattress & box spring). Beds are provided for each veteran and all immediate family members living with them. 2. Welcome Home Kits – We provide veterans with all the household essentials needed to maintain residence, so that they do not have to purchase them out of pocket. These items include brand new: cookware, bakeware, dishes, glassware, silverware, kitchen utensils, bathroom accessories, cleaning and laundry supplies, towels, bedding, and linens, and small appliances. 3. Transportation – OTA is committed to the health and well-being of our veterans by providing transportation to attend doctor appointments, physical therapy sessions, counseling, and job interviews. We are a 100% volunteer charity and have many open volunteer positions. If interested, please contact. To be eligible for our services, you must provide a DD214 or equivalent showing an Honorable, General or Medical discharge from service and have served, at minimum, 6 months beyond basic training. VA benefits eligible veterans automatically qualify for our services.Organization Information
