WQED is Pittsburgh’s public media station, dedicated to using the power of media to educate, inform, and inspire. Our Education Department leads a variety of initiatives that support early learning, family engagement, and lifelong education through trusted PBS content and community partnerships.

One of our core initiatives is the Learning Neighborhoods program, which brings together schools, libraries, and community organizations to create connected learning experiences for children and families. We provide free, high-quality resources, host family events, and offer tools and training for educators and caregivers.

The Jefferson Regional area is part of our Learning Neighborhood South, where we work with local partners to support school readiness, early literacy, and joyful learning experiences that reflect the needs and strengths of the community.
