Jefferson Community Collaborative: Listening to Partners and Community

Dec 5, 2023

Nearly eighty Collaborative partners from sixty organizations, fifteen Community Voice Fund grantees from fourteen organizations, eight Board members, and four community strategists participated in the November 30 Collaborative meeting at the Georgetown Centre. The focus was on hearing from Community Voice Fund grantees. Attendees participated in three rotating table discussions facilitated by grantees who shared findings from community conversations and thoughts about potential next steps. Meeting goals included:

  • Highlight the importance of engagement and outreach as it relates to the work of the Foundation, the Collaborative, and community-serving organizations.
  • Review the Community Voice Fund process and provide high-level lessons learned.
  • Engage with Community Voice Fund grantees to hear key takeaways from community conversations.
  • Provide an update on the Vision Council Member Role and a timeline for recruiting new members.
  • Complete meeting survey.

Slides from the meeting can be found here.

Please also save that date for the next Collaborative meeting on Thursday, February 22 from 8:30am-11:00am at Commonwealth Charter Academy (Waterfront in Homestead). The meeting will include a panel discussion on the importance of advocacy.
