PROGRAM DESCRIPTION & IMPACT
Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization that has been in operation for more than 130 years as a staple in the community with a mission to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. We do whatever it takes to ensure that kids have great futures. Annually, the organization serves more than 5,000 youth and young adults through an array of evidence-based programs and services, including mentoring, academic support and enrichment, youth workforce readiness, Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM) programs, arts, sports, and mental health and wellness programs. All of our programs are designed to support the whole child through academic enrichment, social emotional learning, and wellness. Programming occurs within Allegheny County in the following zip codes: 15222, 15201, 15232, 15212, 15132. The communities in which we have brick and mortar Clubhouses are Lawrenceville, Millvale, Carnegie, Shadyside, Somerset and the Mon Valley. We also have school-based Clubhouses in Duquesne, Penn Hills, Downtown Pittsburgh, Sto-Rox and Shaler. In addition, we partner with school districts and community partners in North Hills, Perry High School, Clairton School, Sto Rox high school, Heritage Out of School Time, Arsenal School, and Foundation of Hope.
