The Carnegie of Homestead uplifts and improves the lives of youth, families and the elderly, and serves as a community activity center for many individuals, families and groups in our region. A variety of activities for youth including Stem based science, toddler story times, arts and crafts for young children and parents, literacy outreach and book distribution to 30+ local preschools and daycare centers. The children’s area is equipped with open programs and areas for children to interact with books and toys and the teen area is equipped with desktop computers. A tutor is available for homework assistance for all grade levels. The teen tech zone located in the downstairs maker classroom with college-level computer programming, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Arts, Math) projects including robotics. Community partners include the Creative Center for Reuse, Carnegie Science Center, Pittsburgh Zoo, Barrels to Beethoven, Reading Ready Pittsburgh, Rainbow Kitchen and Fine arts programs from the region. . – Emily Kubincanek, 412-462-3444 ekubincanek@carnegieofhomestead.org Carnegie Library of Homestead Health and Wellness Programs: Civic/Neighborhood Services. – Provides basketball, volleyball and soccer for ages 4-12, swim lessons for all ages, senior exercise and fitness, low impact and intense body workouts and a specific exercise program designed for those affected by arthritis. – Dan Killinger, 412-462-3444, dkillinger@carnegieofhomestead.org.Organization Information
