Community Directory:
Global Links is a Pittsburgh-based non-profit dedicated to improving health in communities with need. Global Links collaborates with U.S. healthcare institutions and the community to rescue hundreds of tons of high-quality surplus medical materials every year. These materials are shared with public health facilities around the world and with non-profit organizations in Western Pennsylvania that are providing care for their communities. Our Domestic Medical Aid – Community Partners Program works to improve access to healthcare resources through community-driven partnerships and by meeting the healthcare material needs of our lower income neighbors. We provide agencies with medical and home care materials that are needed, but not available for a variety of factors. Some of the most common products requested by our Community Partner organizations for the people they serve include home medical equipment like wheelchairs, personal hygiene items like soap in our Personal Care Kits, breathing machines (nebulizers) through our Breathe Hope project, and incontinence supplies. Domestic Medical Aid Programs are available to organizations serving the residents of the Jefferson footprint. With the support of the Jefferson Regional Foundation and others, we co-host large-scale public drive up Diaper Distributions with the Western Pennsylvania Diaper Bank; each event serves hundreds of families with a month-long supply of diapers and provides information connecting families to additional support. Also, please share that all residents can donate their unused and unexpired medical supplies and gently used home medical equipment to Global Links.
