Program Description

Emerging Leaders Program: Provides career services to seniors in East Allegheny, McKeesport Area, Penn Hills, West Mifflin Area, and Woodland Hills school districts. KOOL Summer Program: A summer academic enrichment program for children going into 1st – 5th grade that offers academic support in the areas of math and reading, cultural field trips, and constructive summer activities and crafts for students. – Nikki Polliard, 412-829-7112, npolliard@hscc-mvpc.org

Youth LIFE After-School Program: An after-school academic and social enrichment program for students in the 1st – 5th grade. – Nikki Polliard, 412-829-7112, npolliard@hscc-mvpc.org

Financial Education Program: Provides community workshops to help attendees develop their financial knowledge and skills in areas such as budgeting, savings, credit, banking, and taxes. – Katie Gascoine, 412-829-7112, kgascoine@hscc-mvpc.org.

Free Tax Preparation: Individuals and families on a low-income or fixed budget may be eligible to have their federal, state, and local taxes done for FREE. – 412-437-8229

Supports for Success: Provides participants with one-on-one case management, employment and education support services, resources, and referrals that assist in increasing self-sufficiency through the achievement of education, employment, housing, financial, and other identified goals. – Iris Grilho, 412-829-7112, igrilho@hscc-mvpc.org.

HIV/AIDS Awareness Programs: HSCC organizes several HIV awareness and education events including the Annual Mon Valley HIV/AIDS Awareness Walk, and events for World AIDS Day and National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. – Abbie Godollei, 412-829-7112, agodollei@hscc-mvpc.org.

Most of our programs are available to anyone in the Mon Valley with the exception being Emerging Leaders Program which is only open to seniors in East Allegheny, McKeesport Area, Penn Hills, West Mifflin Area, and Woodland Hills school districts.
