The Fall 2024 Collaborative Kickoff meeting brought nearly seventy Collaborative partners to Salvatore’s in Baldwin Borough on Friday, September 20 from 8:30-11:00am. The meeting focused on the Foundation’s new strategic plan, communications strategy and updated grantmaking priorities. The refreshed nonpartisan voter engagement materials as part of the Jefferson Votes initiative were highlighted and strategies for utilizing them were discussed. Meeting goals included:

 

  • Reviewing the Jefferson Regional Foundation’s updated strategic plan and communications strategy.
  • Obtaining details about the Mon Valley Clean Air Fund convenings, scheduled for October.
  • Receiving information about the Foundation’s updated grantmaking priorities, process and application.
  • Learning about capacity-building opportunities.
  • Obtaining an update on the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Racial Justice (DEIRJ) Action Team’s recent activities and initiatives.
  • Welcoming new Vision Council members.
  • Reviewing Jefferson Votes materials and how nonpartisan voter engagement promotes community health and well-being.
  • Discussing and sharing what nonpartisan activities your organization is doing to engage voters.

The next Collaborative meeting will be held on Thursday, November 21 at Commonwealth Charter Academy (162 East Bridge St, Homestead, PA 15120). Attendees will participate in a Racial Wealth Gap Simulation led by United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania. Additional details will be available soon on the events calendar.
